Exercise with (digital) oils

I recently draw these fantastic chaps as a surprise gift. It was a great and exciting assignment.

An exercise with shadows and lights.

Portrait after a photograph taken some 40 years ago.

Portraits of recently deceased animals are particularly poignant and challenging for me. I want to bring some life back into the picture, a beautiful memory. With Merlin, I seem to have succeeded, my customer confirmed, which makes me particularly happy. Incidentally, I also submitted the picture for an international competition. Let's see what comes out.

I am very happy that I got the chance to portray this beautiful border collie, a breed that I admire very much.

Here is my latest attempt to use the leeway outside of the realistic style to create more mood and expression.

My latest airbrush picture traveled far up to my hometown Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle. There it now decorates the popular Freija cat café.

Vincent, Ludvig, Cecilia and Musti are the names of the four hosts in the cat café Freija ("Kissakahvila Freija") opened in 2018, the world's northernmost, as can be learnt on the Facebook fan page. They are all siblings and grew up in the café. Her mother's name is Klaara and she lives outside. Lived, one has to say, now she too found her way to the café. I was allowed to portray her in airbrush technique and now she is watching the action from the wall.

The concept of the cat café comes from Asia. In 1998 the very first coffee shop opened in Taipei, Taiwan. The bars achieved their greatest popularity in Japan from 2004: there are now more than 300 so-called Neko-Cafés (Japanese for cat). Reason for the boom: Many Japanese live in very small apartments where pets are not allowed. So they just go to the café to cuddle the Kitty-cat. The trend has also arrived in Europe for several years. Cat cafés are mainly to be found in big cities like London, Paris or Vienna.

What an honor to portray one of the most successful Giant Schnauzers in sport in recent years: Hataro v. Lindelbrunn, world champion 2014 and 2015; Vice World Champion 2016. I would like to thank Petra Reichmann for the trust she has placed in me.

As you can see, I'm not just working on techniques. The more I can, and the better I can, the more I dare to try new things. I started with animal portraits depicted in as much detail as possible, then animal pictures came with new techniques, a few human portraits.

And as the newest work that, with the title "Waiting for the Truth".

Here you can find my offering for digital art.

Individual artwork of a human or animal can be a very welcome gift. Especially then, when you present it in due time.

Photos are a the solid foundation of my works of art. This for several reasons. I'm excited by the interaction of intellect and technique. Together with my husband we know a lot about taking photos and editing them. Photos are fantastic to capture key moments, mood and atmosphere, far better than our memory. They help to create works of art embracing all the shades of a unique instant.
To be sure I can work as well with photos provided by clients.

However, the quality of the reference photo you're sending me is of high importance for the final result of my work of art. If they don't correspond to the requirements for a certain technique I request a better one together with my recommendations.
